Bryan Steil, U.S. Congressman for Wisconsin's 1st district and a consistent victor in recent general elections, posted several updates on his social media accounts this week addressing community remembrance, constituent engagement, and tax policy.
On August 5, 2025, Steil commemorated the anniversary of the Oak Creek Sikh Gurdwara tragedy. In his post, he stated: "13 years ago, a tragic act of violence took seven innocent lives at the Oak Creek Sikh Gurdwara. We honor the memory of the victims and stand with their families and the Sikh community." The shooting at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek remains one of Wisconsin's most significant incidents of hate-motivated violence.
