Congressman Bryan Steil of Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District has requested federal assistance for communities impacted by recent flooding in Wisconsin. Steil, along with other members of the state’s congressional delegation, sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem asking for help in expediting a Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA). The PDA is required before a Major Disaster Declaration can be made, which would allow access to federal recovery resources.
The request follows previous outreach from Steil to both FEMA and the White House regarding the flooding situation.
“As our community continues to rally around those impacted by last week’s floods, I remain committed to helping Wisconsin families affected by this disaster access available resources,” said Steil. “I look forward to working with the Administration to secure the resources necessary to help families in our community recover from this storm.”
Bryan Steil has represented Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District since winning his first election in 2018 against Randy Bryce. He has won re-election several times, including victories over Roger Polack in 2020, Ann Roe in 2022, and Peter Barca in 2024.
