Congressman Bryan Steil of Wisconsin’s 1st District led the entire Wisconsin Congressional delegation in a request to President Trump for a Major Disaster Declaration. The request follows historic flooding across Wisconsin and aims to secure federal assistance for recovery efforts.

Steil had previously contacted the White House and FEMA after storms struck on August 10. He also sent a letter last week to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and FEMA officials regarding the situation.

“I am committed to helping Wisconsin families access the resources they need to recover from this disaster,” said Steil. “I will continue working with the President, my colleagues, and local leaders to ensure our community receives the support it needs as quickly as possible to recover from this storm.”

Steil has held his seat through several election cycles, including victories over Peter Barca in 2024, Ann Roe in 2022, Roger Polack in 2020, and Randy Bryce in 2018.
