Madison Area Technical College issued the following announcement on Jan.28.
RENEW Wisconsin recently honored individuals and businesses who have made significant and lasting advances in clean energy.
Those receiving awards included Madison College instructor Dr. Ken Walz, who was named Clean Energy Educator of the Year.
SOLAR STAR
Walz is director of the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education and has spearheaded Madison College's solar installations, including a recently completed 133-kilowatt solar array at the Watertown campus. The college now has more solar generating capacity than any other school or local government in Wisconsin.
EPA AWARD
In 2020, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented the college with a Green Power Leadership Award for incorporating clean energy into its curriculum and operations.
