Kiyem Obuseh and Tylor Brackett recently ditched a calculus class at Madison College - but they said they had a good reason. The Early College STEM Academy students had to talk to Gov. Tony Evers about a new app they were developing.
“We decided, OK, if we’re in this for the long haul, we shouldn’t have any trouble actually pitching this,” Brackett told Cap Times reporter Scott Girard.
The two students now hope to raise $25,000 through GoFundMe to pay for the development needed for “SPARX,” their career-focused application aimed at helping high school and college students find their path.
“There’s hundreds of thousands of jobs that are out there and we don’t even know they exist,” Obuseh told the Cap Times. The plan is to first launch the app at Madison College and the Madison Metropolitan School District before expanding it to the rest of the country.
