JANESVILLE—The School District of Janesville (SDJ) has announced the appointment of Ms. Kelly Kaminski as the new Principal for Roosevelt Elementary School. The decision was made following approval from the Board of Education.
Mark Holzman, Superintendent for the School District of Janesville, expressed confidence in Kaminski's abilities, stating, "Ms. Kaminski has a strong record of educational leadership focused on academics and is compassionate with students, parents, and staff." Kaminski joins Roosevelt Elementary from her previous role as Assistant Principal at Robinson Elementary School in the School District of Beloit.
Kaminski brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having held various roles in the education sector over the years. She started her career as a 2nd-grade teacher at Converse Elementary School in Beloit and has since served in roles such as School Counselor and Summer School Principal.
With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Valparaiso University and a Master of Science Degree in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Kaminski is well-equipped for her new role. Additionally, she completed the School Principal Certification program through St. Mary's University in 2019.
The selection process for the position was rigorous, with twenty applicants vying for the role. After interviews with a committee comprising Roosevelt staff, a parent representative, and SDJ administration, Kaminski emerged as the top choice. She has been offered a 1-year contract starting from July 1, 2024, with a total salary of $113,500 for the upcoming school year.
Ms. Kelly Kaminski's appointment as Principal for Roosevelt Elementary School marks a new chapter in her career, and the School District of Janesville looks forward to the positive impact she will bring to the school community.
