National Read Across America Day is part of a year-round program that integrates reading activities into daily, weekly, or monthly schedules, with major celebrations in March, including National Reading Month. Since its launch in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA), the program has engaged a wide range of participants, including teachers, politicians, athletes, and community members, to promote reading through events like reading challenges, proclamations, and school activities. It encourages children to explore diverse books that reflect various experiences and perspectives, according to NEA.

The Lincoln Academy is a K4-12 public charter school in Wisconsin that serves Beloit residents. The school focuses on three main pillars: academic rigor, character development, and career exploration. TLA aims to ensure all students graduate with a clear path to success. It offers academic programs, athletic opportunities, and extracurricular activities. Career exploration is integrated into the curriculum to help students set academic and professional goals. TLA offers an approach to education aimed at preparing students for post-graduation opportunities.
