The School District of Janesville has announced the opening of online account creation for the Summer School programs. All students living within the district or those open-enrolled in the P4J-12th grade programs are eligible to participate in the courses. Parents and guardians of students residing outside the district boundaries can also enroll their children in these programs on a tuition basis.
"Enrollment for SDJ resident students is free, and the non-resident fee is $150 per student (not per course). While some courses might require an additional fee (golf, for example), most of the course offerings are available at no charge to resident families." This clarification was provided to ensure parents understand the potential costs involved.
The process of creating online Summer School accounts has commenced for district residents as of March 31, 2025, while non-residents can begin account creation on April 21, 2025. It is crucial to note that new accounts must be created annually for summer school enrollment.
Popular classes such as swim lessons and golf tend to reach full capacity quickly, prompting parents to create accounts and enroll their children promptly. Detailed course descriptions and further information can be accessed via the Summer School Course Handbook available on the district's website. Parents are encouraged not to delay due to high demand: "Popular Summer School offerings such as swim lessons and golf fill up fast, so parents are encouraged to complete online account creation and course enrollment as soon as possible."
More information, including complete course descriptions, is available online at the School District of Janesville's Summer School website: https://www.janesville.k12.wi.us/departments/summer-school.
